OUR MOVEMENT

The Direct Climate Cooling Initiative (DCCI) is a global movement aimed at fostering young environmental leaders passionate about sustainable development.

We connect students aged 8–18 with inspiring stories of climate action and impactful nature-based projects, supported by the book 'The Farm' by Fleur Rossdale, her third book in the Woodland Sprite Series, which launches DCCI. This book highlights challenges in the food system and showcases successful projects addressing soil health and sustainable farming. Current partners include organisations like Justdiggit, Klim, and Communities EverGreening Africa, among others.

DCCI AWARDS

Inspiring the Next Generation to Lead Climate Action

The Direct Climate Cooling Initiative (DCCI) School Awards empower students worldwide to take bold, innovative action for the planet. Schools become hubs of real-world change, where pupils engage in projects that directly address climate challenges - transforming classrooms into catalysts for environmental impact.

With the backing of scientists, philanthropists, and global changemakers, these awards celebrate schools that embrace creativity, leadership, and sustainability. This is more than recognition; it's a movement, amplifying the voices of young leaders and proving that the next generation has the power to shape the future.

The DCCI School Awards culminate in an annual event in Brussels, where leading schools gather alongside climate experts, businesses, and philanthropists to showcase their initiatives and forge powerful new alliances. This flagship event offers a unique opportunity for students and educators to network directly with climate-related industries, policy influencers, and impact investors - creating pathways for collaboration that extend well beyond the classroom.

OUR IMPACT

Through a growing network of schools in Europe and Kenya, DCCI integrates these themes into curricula, inviting students to engage deeply with climate action stories and supporting the launch of scalable nature-based projects. By 2027, DCCI aspires to involve over 200 schools across 10 countries in Europe and Africa, impacting 10,000 students.
